Biography
Maria Weir is a leading authority on Intellectual Capital and ESG valuation, with more than 30 years' experience spanning academia, business, and public policy. As Vice President of Applied Research & Innovation at Areopa and CEO of the Areopa Research & Intellectual Capital Centre (ARICC), she has pioneered methods to monetise intangible assets under IAS 38, bridging sustainability, innovation, and finance. Maria has authored influential publications, led EU-funded projects, and regularly advises SMEs and high-growth sectors on building investor readiness through better management of intellectual and ESG assets.
